DataPump Export (EXPDP) Fails With ORA-1427 When Using A XMLTYPE Column With Object Grants (Doc ID 1118596.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 04, 2018

Applies to:

Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition - Version to [Release 10.2 to 11.2]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

When exporting a schema with XMLTYPE columns and column privileges granted to another schema, then the following error is raised:

Worker unexpected fatal error in KUPW$WORKER.UNLOAD_METADATA [TABLE:"..."."..."]
ORA-01427: single-row subquery returns more than one row

ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_SYS_ERROR", line 95
ORA-06512: at "SYS.KUPW$WORKER", line 7839

A sample for this setup is:

connect / as sysdba

create directory bugdir as '/tmp';
grant read, write on directory bugdir to public;
grant connect, resource to user1 identified by user1;
grant connect, resource to user2 identified by user2;

connect user1/user1
create table tab1 (num number, xt xmltype);

-- grant insert on the xmltype column to the 2nd user
grant insert (xt) on tab1 to user2;

A table with an XMLTYPE column was created for which object grants were given to another schema.
