[INS-00001] Unknown irrecoverable error installing 11.2 (Doc ID 1127135.1)

Symptoms

Installing Oracle 11.2.0.1 on Solaris 10U6, in this example, the following errors are encountered:

Changes

The size and cksum of the install archives are ok when compared to the download site values.
