This article is intended to document some frequently encountered issues with password files and the ORAPWD utility on Windows Operating systems (NT/Windows 2000/Windows 2003/Windows XP), referred to as 'Windows' for the remainder of this article.
The scope of this is article is to discuss the general use of password files on Windows. Some of the information specific to currently desupported versions was retained for historical purposes.
