Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

You are trying to load some java classes or java beans into the database using the loadjava or deployejb tool and you receive the following error: ORA-04031: unable to allocate bytes of shared memory ("shared pool","unknown object","joxlod: init h","JOX: ioc_allocate_pal")

Changes

The mention of "shared pool" in the error message can be a misleading reference to running out of memory in the "Shared Global Area". It may actually be referring to the JAVA_POOL_SIZE not being large enough.
