Last updated on JANUARY 23, 2025
Applies to:

Symptoms
If MSFC is already installed (even if not yet configured) on a Windows 2008 cluster and an attempt is made to install Oracle Grid Infrastructure (GI) 11.2.0.1 , the GI installation will fail during 'Configuring Grid Infrastructure' phase with an indication that it was unable to start the resource: ora.net1.network and/or with the following error reported in the rootcrs_<hostname>.log: ORA-29783: GPnP attribute SET failed with error [CLSGPNP_RD_ERR]. Reference: <Bug 10150497>.
In all cases, if MSFC is enabled on a Windows 2008 cluster that is already successfully running GI or CRS, none of the network resources can be started thereafter (unless / until MSFC is uninstalled).
Changes
Attempt to install or run GI or CRS on a Windows 2008 cluster with MSFC installed
OR
