Symptoms


RMAN 10.2.0.4.5 backup on hp OpenVMS  fails to create a file:

      RMAN-03009: failure of backup command on ORA_DISK_1 channel at 07/27/2010 14:59:33
      ORA-19504: failed to create file "ora$data:[oracle.flash.rep.backupset.2010_07_27]o1_mf_nnndf_tag20100727t145930_%u_.bkp"
      ORA-27040: file create error, unable to create file
      DEC ALPHA VMS Error: 5: i/o error

Changes

First attempt to use RMAN with destination disk ora$data on this hp OpenVMS node.
