Applies to:

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

After defining Database Vault command rules to protect the tables all the DMLs running against those tables are slower.

Before defining the Database Vault command rules these are the results :

SQL> begin
            for rec in 1..500000 loop
               insert into scott.tbl values(rec,'row#'||rec);
            end loop;
     end;
     /
PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.

Elapsed: 00:00:24.00

After enabling the Database Vault command rules the results are :

SQL> begin
       for rec in 1..500000 loop
         insert into scott.tbl values(rec,'row#'||rec);
       end loop;
     end;
     /
PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.

Elapsed: 00:01:01.30
