After upgrading an OpenVMS 220.127.116.11 RDBMS to 10.2.0.4.3, 18.104.22.168 OpenVMS based clients are receiving intermittent ORA-3113 errors.
Event 10849 is already set and working per note 455832.1
The sql code for the failing queries is lengthy, typically more than 1500 characters.
The queries can be restarted and run without failure.
Level 16 SQL*net tracing of both client and server show that the client is sending two large packets (containing the lengthy sql query) but the server never receives the packets.
The client will hang for 9 minutes and then the client server connection is broken, returning an ORA-3113 error to the client.
