(Doc ID 1194224.1)

Last updated on JULY 05, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Net Services - Version to [Release 11.1 to 12.1]
PL/SQL - Version to [Release 11.1 to 12.1]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

The value of the LD_LIBRARY_PATH defined in the file extproc.ora is ignored when the external procedure agent is confiured to use the Default Configuration.  This causes any library which must be reached via the LD_LIBRARY_PATH to not be found, therefore running an external procedure which refers to the external library may raise the errors:

ORA-6520: PL/SQL: Error loading external library
ORA-6522: refer_library.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
