Rman Duplicate Does Not Use The Most Recent Incremental Backup (Doc ID 1195673.1)

Symptoms


During the duplicate of the database, only the first incremental cumulative backup is applied although there are more incremental cumulative backups to apply. The archivelog files are applied instead the incremental cumulative backups.

Changes


Two types of backups are being taken :

A. Backup level 0 and incremental cumulative backup :

RMAN> backup incremental level 0 database ;
RMAN> backup incremental level 1 cumulative database tag='Online Incremental  Level 1';

B.  Merged Incremental Backup.

RMAN> run
{
BACKUP INCREMENTAL LEVEL 1 FOR RECOVER OF COPY WITH TAG 'incr_update' DATABASE;
RECOVER COPY OF DATABASE WITH TAG 'incr_update';
}
