NID CHANGE DATABASE NAME SESSION HANGS (Doc ID 1202355.1)

Symptoms

When executing NID utility from SQLPLUS prompt to rename the instance the session hangs.

EXAMPLE:
SQL> host nid TARGET=sys/<PASSWORD> DBNAME=<DB_NAME>
Hangs with the below message:
Control File /<PATH>/<FILE_NAME>.ctl - dbid changed, wrote new name Control File /<PATH>/<FILE_NAME>.ctl - dbid changed, wrote new name Control File /<PATH>/<FILE_NAME>.ctl - dbid changed, wrote new name
..
..
Enter ctrl C
NID-00600: Internal Error - [28] [1013] [0] [0] . . Change of database name and ID failed during validation - database is intact. DBNEWID - Completed with validation errors.
