RDBPROD: How to control TCP/IP network timeouts with Hot Standby (Doc ID 120643.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 03, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Rdb Server on OpenVMS - Version 7.0 and later
Oracle CODASYL DBMS - Version 7.0 and later
HP OpenVMS Alpha
HP OpenVMS Itanium

When you are using Hot Standby and the standby node crashes, or the network goes away, Hot Standby on the master node will "stall" until the network timeout is detected. The stall message is:

"Waiting for AIJ submission"

"hibernating on AIJ submission"

and by default, the stall will last 8 minutes.

You would like to shorten that stall time. How can that be done?
