Goal



When trying to migrate from Timesten v6 to Timesten v7, there is a huge increase in datasize which is evident from below example,


* TimesTen V6.X

Command> dssize;

PERM_ALLOCATED_SIZE: 6291456
PERM_IN_USE_SIZE: 3591961
PERM_IN_USE_HIGH_WATER: 6285254
TEMP_ALLOCATED_SIZE: 102400
TEMP_IN_USE_SIZE: 11549
TEMP_IN_USE_HIGH_WATER: 24590


* TimesTen V7.X with Characterset US7ASCII
Command> dssize;

PERM_ALLOCATED_SIZE: 8388608
PERM_IN_USE_SIZE: 6321454
PERM_IN_USE_HIGH_WATER: 6321454
TEMP_ALLOCATED_SIZE: 204800
TEMP_IN_USE_SIZE: 6093
TEMP_IN_USE_HIGH_WATER: 6396
