Adding new node to Existing RAC cluster

On : version, STORAGE

When attempting to add a new node to the cluster on AIX platform using EMC PowerPath 5.3,
the following error occurs.

ORA-27091: unable to queue I/O
ORA-27072: File I/O error
IBM AIX RISC System/6000 Error: 16: Device busy
Additional information: 7

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Have a fully functional 2 node RAC cluster.
2. Set up a new node to be added and then try to share the storage with that node.
3. Experience the problem in the original 2 node cluster.

The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, users cannot add new node to the cluster.


Added new node to existing RAC cluster.
