<snip>
. exporting bitmap, functional and extensible indexes
EXP-00008: ORACLE error 0 encountered
ORA-00000: normal, successful completion
EXP-00078: Error exporting metadata for index <spatial_index>. Index creation will be skipped

Running the following query may show that the index's DOMIDX_OPSTATUS is FAILED:

SELECT c.index_owner, c.index_name, c.table_owner, c.table_name,
       c.column_name, i.status, i.domidx_status, i.domidx_opstatus
FROM dba_indexes i, dba_ind_columns c
WHERE i.owner = '<owner>'
  AND i.index_name = '<spatial_index>
  AND i.owner = c.index_owner
  AND i.index_name = c.index_name;

Or running the following query shows that there is NO corresponding row for the Spatial Index found in ALL_SDO_GEOM_METADATA:

SELECT * FROM all_sdo_geom_metadata
WHERE owner = '<owner>';
