Unix: Installation of CMAN (Connection Manager) Fails On Relink-10g and Later (Doc ID 1240553.1)

This issue would occur only in installations where CMAN or Connection Manager is being installed by itself. The library that is missing would not be missing from a full Enterprise or Standard edition installation.


Symptoms

An installation of Connection Manager (CMAN) into a new ORACLE_HOME fails with the following error during relinking:

Excerpted:

/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lons
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [cmadmin] Error 1

Changes

This is a new installation of  version10g or later CMAN into an ORACLE_HOME where no other Oracle products exist.
