ORA-600 [KGHCHK_JAVEXFR1] MMAN CRASHES INSTANCE (Doc ID 1253834.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 28, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition - Version 11.1.0.7 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

ORA-600 [KGHCHK_JAVEXFR1] MMAN crashes instance.
The problem occurs during standard work, low load.
.
Strack Trace:
kghnerror kghcheck_java_extent_free kghcheck_extent_free
kghquiesceable_extent ksmc_select_granule kmgs_getgran_from_comp_helper

Changes

We have large values for the SGA:
shared_pool_size = 4G
large_pool_size = 512M
java_pool_size = 512M
streams_pool_size = 0
sga_target = 200G
pga_aggregate_target = 40G
_pga_max_size = 600G
Memory_target is not used, sga_target is specified.
.
The ORA-600 [kghchk_javexfr1] seems raised when checking if a java extent is
free and we find it's not the current extent. So we suspect a java pool
memory corruption issue.
Given the SGA size here, the default SGA memory granule size
(_KSMG_GRANULE_SIZE) being used is 512Mb
