Symptoms

Using the following  11g gateways -

Database Gateway for SQL*Server (DG4MSQL)
Database Gateway for Sybase (DG4Sybase)
Database Gateway for Informix (DG4Informix)
Database Gateway for DRDA (DG4DRDA)

a table select without specifying an owner fails even though HS_FDS_DEFAULT_OWNER has been set to the table owner.

The gateway init<sid>.ora file has the parameter set -

HS_FDS_DEFAULT_OWNER=Tabowner

These SQL statements work -

describe "Tabowner"."table_name"@lnk_gtw

Name  Null?  Type
-------- -------- -------------------------------------------------------- -------- -------------------------------------------------
col1                NUMBER(5)
col_date        DATE
col3                CHAR(6)

describe "table_name"@lnk_gtw

Name Null? Type
-------- -------- -------------------------------------------------------- -------- -------------------------------------------------
col1                NUMBER(5)
col_date        DATE
col3               CHAR(6)

select count(*) from "Tabowner"."table_name"@lnk_gtw ;

COUNT(*)
---------
3991126

but this fails -

select count(*) from "table_name"@lnk_gtw;
select count(*) from "table_name"@lnk_gtw
