Symptoms

- In 11.1.0.6.x, 11.1.0.7.0 or 11.1.0.7.1 , your Alert log shows the following type of error messages:


ORA-04031: unable to allocate ... bytes of shared memory ("shared pool", ... ,"kgsp-heap", ...).


- All tracefiles are pinpointing the ORA-4031 to be raised against "kgs-heap".


- There are more than 4 processor cores and "kgs-heap" is using more than 5% of the shared pool.

- At least 2 or more subpools.
