Error ORA-32331 Type Is Incompatible With The Master Site (Doc ID 1268374.1)

Symptoms


While trying to creating a Materialized View where an XML type or SDO_GEOMETRY datatype are involved and the master site version is different then the materialized view siteversion, then the error ORA-32331 occurs.

For example:
Master Site: 11.1.0.6
MView Site: 11.2.0.2

-- Unable to create a materialized view containing a SDO_GEOMETRY datatype column on a

Create table <TABLE_NAME>
(COL1 number(10) NOT NULL,
COL2 MDSYS.SDO_GEOMETRY
)
/

Alter table <TABLE_NAME> add constraint <CONSTRAINT_NAME> primary key(col1);

--
DROP MATERIALIZED VIEW <MVIEW_NAME>;

CREATE MATERIALIZED VIEW <MVIEW_NAME>
REFRESH COMPLETE AS
