Specific to Linux x86-64


During startup of database the following error occurs:

SQL> startup
ORA-27123: unable to attach to shared memory segment
Linux-x86_64 Error: 22: Invalid argument
Additional information: 1
Additional information: 425986

The "425986" number increases by 131072 with each attempt to start the database.

Database start with 204GB SGA but strace shows EINVAL when trying to allocate 205GB :

13285 shmat(131075, 0x2d80000000, 0)    = -1 EINVAL (Invalid argument)

shmmax is set high (464GB in this case)
Increasing shmall has no effect
Server has 512Gb Memory avaliable.
