Symptoms

When starting export (traditional EXP or DataPump EXPDP) utility on a development database, it fails with the error below, although it has been verified that the ORACLE_HOME is set properly:

Message 206 not found; No message file for product=RDBMS, facility=EXP: Release 10.2.0.3.0 - Production on Sun Nov 21 20:57:22 2010

Invalid format of Export utility name

Verify that ORACLE_HOME is properly set

Export terminated unsuccessfully

EXP-00000: Message 0 not found; No message file for product=RDBMS, facility=EXP[sprwh02][joo1]
