V$ASM_DISK may Contain Invalid Values on Column READ_ERRS

Symptoms
Error count in column READ_ERRS of V$ASM_DISK view may have invalid data. For example, READ_ERRS column value could be bigger that READS column value, or it could have a big number which is multiple of the Oracle block size while no I/O errors are reported anywhere else.
There are no I/O related errors in alert.log files (database and asm) or at storage cell.
