Symptoms

You encounter an ORA-07445 [qerltIDLS] internal error when trying to split a table partition.

SQL> ALTER TABLE SCOTT.CALL_DATA
  2  SPLIT PARTITION CALL_DATA_2010
  3  AT (TO_DATE('2011-01-01', 'YYYY-MM-DD'))
  4  INTO (PARTITION CALL_DATA_2010, PARTITION CALL_DATA_2011
  5  TABLESPACE DATA_01 ) UPDATE GLOBAL INDEXES;

ALTER TABLE SCOTT.CALL_DATA
*
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-07445: exception encountered: core dump [qerltIDLS()+633] [SIGSEGV] [ADDR:0x6] [PC:0x241FA01] [Address not mapped to object] []

Changes

You have invoked procedures in the DBMS_REDEFINITION package to perform online redefinition of the table, perhaps to convert it from a non-partitioned to a partitioned one.
