EXADATA Auto Management Fails With OCI Call To Execute SQL (Doc ID 1282026.1)

Symptoms

Warnings about offline disks are generated by Exadata Auto Management feature in alert_+ASM.log

WARNING: Exadata Auto Management: OS PID: 10804 Operation ID: 15623: in diskgroup Failed
SQL : /* Exadata Auto Mgmt: Select disks in DG that are not ONLINE. */
select name from v$asm_disk_stat
where
mode_status='OFFLINE'
and
group_number in
(
select group_number from v$asm_diskgroup_stat
where
name='DATA_SBA2'
and
state='MOUNTED'
)

Cause : OCI call to execute sql failed.
Action : Contact Oracle support.



Query on v$asm_disk_stat reports no offline disks at all.



SQL> select name from v$asm_disk_stat
 2  where
 3  mode_status='OFFLINE';


no rows selected
