Mobile Client Fails to Sync: java.lang.Exception: USER_INVALID in external auth; logon denied (Doc ID 1289803.1)

On : version, Mobile Server

When attempting to Synchronize the mobile client for PPC50
the following error occurs.

java.lang.Exception: USER_INVALID in external auth; logon denied.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
a) Install the mobile client using the mobile user: <USER> with password <password>
b) Synchronize
c) Do something
d) Synchronize -> USER_INVALID
e) Reset the mobile user passord using the mobile manager -> Synchronize, it works.
