Symptoms

RMAN is failing with these errors:

RMAN-03015: error occurred in stored script Memory Script
RMAN-06136: ORACLE error from auxiliary database: ORA-00201: control file version 11.2.0.1.0 incompatible with ORACLE version 11.2.0.0.0
ORA-00202: control file: '+ORADATA/<DIR>/<CONTROLFILE_NAME>.ctl1'

and the alert log shows this:
