Symptoms

Custom java mail implementation using javax.mail related classes errors at runtime after upgrade to 11g. 

The java mail API functionality was enabled by loading mail.jar and activation.jar into the database.

Errors raised include:


javax.mail.NoSuchProviderException: No provider for Address type: rfc822

and/or

javax.mail.NoSuchProviderException: No provider for smtp

Changes

Database upgrade.
