CDC Publishing Changes For Not Interested Columns Into The Change Table (Doc ID 1300395.1)

Last updated on MARCH 02, 2011

Applies to:

Oracle Server - Enterprise Edition - Version: 10.2.0.1 to 11.1.0.7 - Release: 10.2 to 11.1
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

This is a CDC Asynchronous Hotlog configuration, where there is one source table, let's say with 3 columns, COL1, COL2 and COL3.

The change table is created on interest of COL1 and COL2 only, and the subscription is also based on these two first columns.

Any update on source table for COL3 generates 2 new rows at change table, and upon the extend window call (DBMS_CDC_SUBSCRIBE.EXTEND_WINDOW), these two rows are made available to the subscriber too. These two rows have OPERATION$ values for "UO" and "UN".

Changes

Implemented CDC Asynchronous Hotlog configuration.
