Last updated on MARCH 22, 2011

Applies to:

Oracle Database Gateway for DRDA - Version: 11.1.0.6 to 11.2.0.2 - Release: 11.1 to 11.2
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Database Gateway for DRDA (DG4DRDA) is able to connect to DB2 zOS V9, which has one data sharing member defined, when using 4 position non-DVIPA name.
The goal is to be able to connect to DB2 data sharing member using DVIPA 8 position name so when another data sharing member is defined later, the DVIPA name can be used to access either data sharing member (whichever one is running).
For example -

Current: DRDA_REMOTE_DB_NAME=Z1Q1
New: DRDA_REMOTE_DB_NAME=Z1Q1DB2Z

Does the DG4DRDA gateway support DVIPA (DB2 Virtual Data Sharing Member Address) ?
