Frequently Asked Questions

Q. The press release on oracle.com says that the last release of the Oracle Database is 11.2 but this note says that the last Itanium release on Windows and OpenVMS is 10.2.0.5.  Which one is right?
A. Both.  The press release lists the highest release number of all releases of Oracle Database on all Itanium platforms.  The details in this note are just more specific.

Q. Oracle Database 11g Release 1 (11.1) is not mentioned.  What's happening with Itanium releases of 11.1?
A. 11.1 will be supported for the full published life for all platforms where there is a currently available 11.1 release.  If 11.1 has not been released on a platform, we have no plans to release it in the future.  For the most current schedule of Database releases (both released and planned) see Release Schedule of Current Database Releases (Doc ID 742060.1)
