Double Quotation Mark Allowed In Password Through OCI, But Not Through ODP.Net (Doc ID 1308392.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 03, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Data Provider for .NET - Version: 11.2.0.1 to 11.2.0.2 - Release: 11.2 to 11.2
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

After changing the password via password expire to a new password ended by double quotation mark SQL PLUS can connect but Oracle Data Provider for .NET (odp.net) gets "connection string is not well-formed."  There is no way to escape the double-quote when it is in the end of the password in odp.net. This is working in oci, oledb and jdbc.
