Oracle ODBC Driver Shows the Incorrect Version in 11.2.0.2.0 or 10.2.0.5.0 (Doc ID 1308617.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 03, 2013

Applies to:

Oracle ODBC Driver - Version 10.2.0.5.0 to 11.2.0.2
Microsoft Windows (32-bit)
Microsoft Windows x64 (64-bit)
***Checked for relevance on 03-Dec-2013***

Symptoms

The 11.2.0.2.0 Client Software installs an Oracle ODBC Driver with the version set to 11.1.0.7.0.

  Or

The 10.2.0.5.0 Client Software installs an Oracle ODBC Driver with the version set to 10.2.0.4.0.

To verify the version of the Oracle ODBC Driver you can EITHER:

  1. Open the Microsoft ODBC Administrator
  2. Click on the Drivers tab
  3. Find the name of the ODBC driver in the list and check the Version column

NOTE: The version number will be padded with extra zeros due to the way the Microsoft ODBC Administrator reports this information. For example, 11.1.0.7.0 is reported as 11.01.00.07 and 10.2.0.4.0 is reported as 10.02.00.04.

  Or

Open Windows Explorer and go to the ORACLE_HOME\bin or ORACLE_HOME directory and locate any of the following ODBC DLLs:

Right-click the DLL and choose Properties.  Click on the Version tab and review the File Version information.

Changes

This issue occurs when you install or upgrade to 11.2.0.2.0 or 10.2.0.5.0 Client Software.
