Purpose
The purpose of this article is to explain how to determine if your
dictionary statistics are RDBMS-generated or set by users through one
of the DBMS_STATS.SET_xx_STATS procedures in version Oracle 8i and higher
Scope
During an application development phase, you are testing the performance of
SQL statements with various sets of statistics. You may need to know if the
relying statistics are RDBMS-defined or user-defined. How to determine
this information in Oracle 8i is explained in this article.
