Intermittent ORA-1116, ORA-1110 and ORA-27092 Errors On Undo and Temp Files

Symptoms
In the alert.log, intermittent ORA-1116, ORA-1110 and ORA-27092 on undo and temp files are reported:
ORA-01116: error in opening database file 2
ORA-01110: data file 2: '/u01/app/oracle/oradata/orcl/undo/undo01.dbf'
ORA-27092: size of file exceeds file size limit of the process
