Ora-07445 [SIGILL] Invoking Portal Procedures within Database JVM (Doc ID 1317956.1)

You are using Oracle Portal stored procedures within Oracle Database to invoke Java methods.  The alert log indicates the ORA-07445 internal error with the SIGILL (illegal instruction) signal, when trying to access a URL to retrieve a PDF document.

Errors in file /u01/oracle/orclprd/db/11.1.0/diag/rdbms/orclprd/orclprd/trace/orclprd_ora_20188.trc (incident=104667):
ORA-07445: exception encountered: core dump [PC:0xC00000000B495410] [SIGILL] [ADDR:0xC00000000B495410] [PC:0xC00000000B495410] [Illegal opcode] []

You see from the accompanying trace file that the failing process was trying to obtain a document through Oracle Portal.

The call stack trace contains the following functions:

sjoninvk_jit joevm_joe_run_jit_somersault joe_jit_void_trampoline


You haven't applied any software patches or changed any init.ora parameters.  The problem may only appear intermittently.  You have the default setting for JAVA_JIT_ENABLED, which is TRUE.
