At regular intervals, errors similar to the following are logged in the alert.log:

ORA-00700: soft internal error, arguments: [dbgrfrbf_1], [/oracle/product/11.2.0/admin/I21PREP/udump/diag/rdbms/i21prep/I21PREP/metadata/HM_FINDING.ams], [64839], [1], [], [], [], [], [], [], [], []
ORA-48102: encountered the end-of-file when reading the file
Additional information: 64840
Additional information: 1
Additional information: 32823

Potentially, any file under the .../diag/rdbms directory tree that is used by a running RDBMS instance can be associated to a paired set of ORA-700 / ORA-48102 errors.

Assuming that no file system or operating system limits or operating system user quotas limits have been reached, then the file referenced by the ORA-00700 error is either logically or physically corrupted.
