Symptoms

On shutdown of the database you see that a System State dump is triggered AFTER the database has successfully Completed its Close:

NOTE: Deferred communication with ASM instance
NOTE: deferred map free for map id 4
Completed: ALTER DATABASE CLOSE NORMAL

Thu Apr 28 01:25:55 2011
freeing rdom 0
System State dumped to trace file /<diagnostic_dest>/diag/rdbms/<dbname>/<instname>/trace/<sid>_ora_21230.trc
ERROR: SGA memory leak detected


You may also see ora-4031 errors or shared pool usage increases due to kglhd allocations.
