Heavy Resource Consumption in the Database Due to Grid Control AQ Metrics (Doc ID 1321015.1)

In an Enterprise Manager Grid Control Environment for 11.2 targets, the following query appears to be very expensive in the database.

select queue, avg(sysdate-ENQ_TIME) * 86400 AVERAGE_MSG_AGE from <AQ$ View> group by queue.

The associated queue table from the above query , has huge number of records(in millions).

AWR reports  could show high CPU consumption, TEMP tablespace usage,user i/o waits,physical gets etc, and this query could figure in the Top SQL
