ORA-20000 DRG-50610 DRG-10607 since upgrading to 11.2.0.2 when updating a table with Text index (Doc ID 1321570.1)

Symptoms

Since upgrading to 11.2.0.2, updating a column with a Text index fails with errors:

SQL> CREATE INDEX TS_TEXT_IDX
  on TEST ( TS_TEXT_SYNC )
INDEXTYPE IS CTXSYS.CONTEXT;

Index created.

SQL> SELECT TS_TEXT_SYNC FROM TEST
 WHERE CONTAINS ( TS_TEXT_SYNC,'sat on the mat' ) > 0;

TS_TEXT_SYNC
----------------------------------------------------
The cat sat on the mat

SQL> update test
 set TS_TEXT_SYNC = 'Updating the indexed column'
  where test_id = 1;

1 row updated.

SQL> commit;
commit
*
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
ORA-20000: Oracle Text error:
DRG-50610: internal error: drexdsync
DRG-10607: index meta data is not ready yet for queuing DML

Changes

The database was upgraded to 11.2.0.2.
