Symptoms
When the following is query is issued you see the following:
SQL> select group#||','||members||' , '||status from v$log order by 1;
select group#||','||members||' , '||status from v$log order by 1
*
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-00204: error in reading (block 1, # blocks 1) of control file
ORA-00202: control file: '<path>control_01b.ctl'
ORA-27072: File I/O error
IBM AIX RISC System/6000 Error: 9: Bad file number
