Bug 6156708 Not Fixed In - Impdp fails when importing stats : ORA-39083, ORA-01403 (Doc ID 1326355.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 04, 2018

Applies to:

Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition - Version and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

When importing tables that were exported with Expdp with statistics, Impdp fails with:

ORA-39083: Object type INDEX_STATISTICS failed to create with error:
ORA-01403: no data found
ORA-01403: no data found

The table was created similar to:

  1. Create table
  2. Alter table to add primary key on x columns
  3. Create index on x cols with a *different order*

This can also happen if the created index has a different number of columns, e.g.

alter table test0 add (primary key (col2, col1, col3) using index);
create index test0index on test0 (col3, col1, col2, col4);

As part of the import, we create the table first, then create the index, and then alter the table to add the primary key.
With these steps, import is not generating any system generated index.
