Symptoms
Trying to start database with a huge SGA (memory_target=128G) fails with:
USER (ospid: 6189): terminating the instance due to error 472
Termination issued to instance processes. Waiting for the processes to exit
Termination issued to instance processes. Waiting for the processes to exit
The trace of process terminating the instance shows:
Waited for process PMON to initialize for 118 seconds
