How To Expand The Size Of the USERS Tablespace inside DBFW Management Server Database (Doc ID 1332492.1)

Last updated on JUNE 27, 2011

Applies to:

Oracle Database Firewall - Version: 5.0 and later   [Release: 5 and later ]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Error messages in /var/log/messages show the following repetitive errors:

Jun 21 09:56:49 dbfwms18a9055c01d2 mwecsvc: ERROR - Prepared query failed:Oracle Error: code=1653: 'ORA-01653: unable to extend table SECURELOG.APPLIANCE_EVENTS by 8192 in tablespace USERS#012' (INSERT INTO appliance_events(event_id,time,source_id,message) VALUES (appliance_events_seq.nextval,:time,:source_id,:message))

It is possible that the USERS tablespace of the database inside the Oracle Database Firewall 5.0 runs out of space when more data is accumulated over time, the reason is the existing datafiles cannot expand beyond 2G even if they are set to autoextend. This solution is not the way we want to continue in the future and development is working to get the database sized properly with the search log results that are required. Support will add any related info as it will become available to this note.
