Goal

You use the LONG RAW datatype to store binary data or byte strings. The maximum length of a LONG RAW value is 2147483647 bytes or two gigabytes. This document describes the case where updates to a LONG RAW column using LONG RAW bind variables causes high segment growth and options to resolve this issue.
