Symptoms

The REVERSE function returns a wrong result when using multibyte or extended characters such as Umlaut.

SQL> select reverse('asdfghjklöäüßÖÄÜ?') from dual;

REVERSE('ASDFGHJK
-----------------
?¿ÄÖßüäö¿kjhgfdsa

SQL> select reverse('asdföäü') from dual;

REVERSE
-------
¿äö¿dsa
