Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - Database Service - Version N/A and later
Oracle Database Cloud Exadata Service - Version N/A and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

This document explains how to defragment objects. While this can be applied broadly, this document is particularly focused on OCNCC products family (Oracle Communication Network and Charging Control).

User MUST have Oracle Server Enterprise Edition 10g onwards to be able to apply commands referred in this document (coalesce, shrink), except for the Pre-requisites section (see note).

Some tables and indexes can be fragmented when a huge deletion has been performed as in Doc 1269895.1. This is particularly the case after Vouchers deletion in ccs_voucher_reference and be_vouchers. After this operation, the tablespace usage has not decreased due to fragmentation.
