Symptoms

After dropping a tablespace and corresponding datafiles on located on a Network File System (NFS), you find that the OS is still holding the data-files.

SQL> drop tablespace tablespace_name including contents and datafiles;


The Alert log shows:

Completed: drop tablespace tablespace_name including contents and datafiles


The OS is still holding the data-files:
