Symptoms

You started an Export DataPump job in a large database and observed a performance problem where the export job was apparently hanging for a long time at the step:

Estimate in progress using BLOCKS (or STATISTICS) method...
Processing object type DATABASE_EXPORT/SCHEMA/TABLE/TABLE_DATA

This problem is handled in several internal defects, which have different root causes.
