Symptoms

NOTE: In the images and/or the document content below, the user information and data used represents fictitious data from the Oracle sample schema(s) or Public Documentation delivered with an Oracle database product. Any similarity to actual persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental and not intended in any manner.

With Oracle 11.2 okinit no longer collects all interface addresses if the  system has more than one interface. This worked properly in versions prior to  11.2:

In 11.2.0.1:

okdstry..
okinit..

 $ klist -an -c ./krb5.cc
 Ticket cache: FILE:./krb5.cc
 Default principal: oracle@US.ORACLE.COM
 .
 Valid starting Expires Service principal
 01/11/11 15:15:15 01/11/11 23:06:09 krbtgt/US.ORACLE.COM@US.ORACLE.COM
 Addresses: 11.222.3.44

 [11.2.0.1 result: okinit is picking up only one of the two interfaces]

In 11.1.0.7:

 okdstry..
 okinit..

 $ klist -an -c ./krb5.cc
 Ticket cache: FILE:./krb5.cc
 Default principal: oracle@US.ORACLE.COM

 Valid starting Expires Service principal
 01/11/11 15:12:46 01/11/11 23:03:41 krbtgt/US.ORACLE.COM@US.ORACLE.COM
 Addresses: 11.222.3.44, 11.222.3.55

 [11.1.0.7 result: both interfaces are added to the credential cache]
