Last updated on NOVEMBER 14, 2016

Applies to:

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

With Oracle 11.2 okinit no longer collects all interface addresses if the  system has more than one interface. This worked properly in versions prior to  11.2:

In 11.2.0.1:

okdstry..
okinit..

 [celcsol1]/amer/net/home/users/mseibt/kerb> klist -an -c ./krb5.cc
 Ticket cache: FILE:./krb5.cc
 Default principal: oracle@US.ORACLE.COM
 .
 Valid starting Expires Service principal
 01/11/11 15:15:15 01/11/11 23:06:09 krbtgt/US.ORACLE.COM@US.ORACLE.COM
 Addresses: 10.220.8.74

[11.2.0.1 result: okinit is picking up only one of the two interfaces]

In 11.1.0.7:

 okdstry..
 okinit..

 [celcsol1]/amer/net/home/users/mseibt/kerb> klist -an -c ./krb5.cc
 Ticket cache: FILE:./krb5.cc
 Default principal: oracle@US.ORACLE.COM

 Valid starting Expires Service principal
 01/11/11 15:12:46 01/11/11 23:03:41 krbtgt/US.ORACLE.COM@US.ORACLE.COM
 Addresses: 10.220.8.74, 10.220.32.74

[11.1.0.7 result: both interfaces are added to the credential cache]
